How to avoid multiple entries from same user?

I have! due to our service, it is likely that multiple users may use the same computer though. Furthermore, I’ve noticed from looking at our data that some duplicate IP entries are valid. It just may be multiple users from the same University, for example, who are all on the same wi-fi and thus the same IP.

@Fabs123 if you are expecting multiple users taking survey using same computer then Fraud detection and IP checking wont help. May be you can try using SSO and/or validating the users via email id. This way you can validate correct users.

We have these in place but sadly I’ve confirmed that some people will take the time to create new email accounts in order to make new accounts in our service (I’ve interviewed different users and some where the same person - did not want to turn camera on). A hard problem to solve :,c

Intresting. So we have challenge with people using same machine and creating different accounts both.

Just a wild thought, we can also ask them scan QR Code which will work on mobile and can generate unique id for them. Or give a Qualtrics survey URL in QR Code which will generate unique id for participants on mobile and they will enter the same in main survey. When the Qualtrics survey opens on mobile, it can place cookie on participants browser which can help to identify if same participant is entering again. Can be slightly complex to manage with all different workflows to handle however you would be able to find 70-80% of duplicates records. Havent tried this but should definitely help.

Also, additionally, if you ask participant to submit identity proof, and you can give them bonus points or some incentives after verification is completed. That should helps to some extent.

Is inserting a QR Code part of the qualtrics settings? This would definitely solve things from the mobile side. 

@Fabs123 there are some application which provide API support of creating QR code by passing a URL. Here is one example. This is just one example. Not sure of which is the best application for such thing.
