How to code in previous answer to the question of a new one? (if that makes sense! new to Qualtrics)

Hello I'm new to Qualtrics and I have a specific request.
I want to display the previous chosen choice in the next questions text. An example is probably better so:
lets say question 1 i ask "What is your favourite type of fruit?" (apple, banana, pear are the choices). You choose apple.
Question 2 will ask "how often do you eat apples?"
However, if i had selected "Banana" in question 1, when it comes onto question 2, it will interchange apple for banana instead.
Is there a way of coding this in so that the only thing that changes is what fruit is mentioned?
If possible please show me how I've been searching for ages. Thanks
