Is there a way for 50% of people to see answer choices in reverse order, while the other 50% of people see the answer choices in the original order?

Yes you can create two questions and randomoly select one question.
Final data you can punch in embedded field.

Adding on CxEx comment: You can create two questions just like above mentioned in two separate blocks. Now go into survey flow n put both blocks under a randomizer. Since you want same no. of respondents for each type. Make sure you select "Evenly present elements"
