How to take/upload photographs during an interview? | XM Community
Skip to main content

I am setting up an in-store survey where I want to get respondents to take photos of pictures/products etc. as part of the questionnaire process:

Example:

  1. Please take a photo of the product that stands out the most (PHOTO)
  2. Please tell us why you selected this product (OPEN)
  3. Please take a photograph of the complete product display (PHOTO)
  4. How would you rate the product display? (RATING)
  5. Why did you give the display that rating (OPEN)

etc.

Is there a way that this can be done smoothly (from the respondent perspective):

  • Answer question
  • Take photo
  • Answer question
  • etc.

Any help and advice is appreciated!

Hello @Arthur_Fletcher

You can use the 'File Upload' question type to do this.

Below are the Question Types that will help you:

  1. Take a photo of the product that stands out the most (PHOTO): File Upload Question
  2. Tell us why you selected this product (OPEN): Text Entry Question
  3. Take a photograph of the complete product display (PHOTO): File Upload Question
  4. How would you rate the product display? (RATING): Multiple Choice or Rating Question
  5. Why did you give the display that rating (OPEN): Text Entry Question

For more information on File Upload, please refer to the link.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi Sachin

Thanks for the reply, but I didn’t make myself clear.

My point was that I wanted a respondent to take several photos through the course of the interview, ideally without switching from camera to browser and back again.  There are other platforms that allow respondents to take photos in this way to make it seamless.  My question was can this be made to happen in Qualtrics?
