Piped text of scoring to embedded data

Hi community,

I’m trying to piped in a scoring value in to embedded data field and the use that embedded data field for calculation and the display it in a latter text/graphic question.

for some reason, the embedded data field doesn’t get populated by the scoring.

these are the steps i took so far:

Step 1: Set Up Scoring

1. Navigate to the Survey:

   • Go to the Survey tab in your Qualtrics account and select the survey you want to work on.

2. Set Up Scoring:

   • Click on Tools and select Scoring.
   • Create a new scoring category or use an existing one.
   • Assign points to the questions as needed.

Step 2: Pipe Scoring into an Embedded Data Field

1. Navigate to the Survey Flow:

   • Click on the Survey Flow button in the survey editor.

2. Add an Embedded Data Element:

   • Click Add a New Element Here and select Embedded Data.
   • Name the embedded data field (e.g., Score).

3. Set the Value of the Embedded Data Field:

   • Click Set a Value Now.
   • Click the dropdown and highlight Insert Piped Text.
   • Highlight Scoring and select the category whose score you want to display.
   • Click Score. Your value will now be displayed as piped text, surrounded by curly brackets (e.g., {ScoringCategory/Score})

This is a answer i got from Q support, but it looks like a AI chat answer :(.

and it doesn’t work.

any ideas what could be the issue?
