Pre-testing survey - do I need to create a new survey? | XM Community

Hi, I have created my first survey and emailed it to 5 recipients to test.
I was wondering if I need to redo the survey if I'm going to send it out to my sample group to track this group's responses (and not to get mixed up with the test group's responses).

Hi HeidiS I would just recommend deleting your test responses before launching to your sample: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/data-and-analysis-module/data/recorded-responses/#DeletingResponses

If you've already emailed it like a "real survey" to 5 folks, I would delete them per ClairJ's suggestion. It will be hard to determine who is a "real" participant and who is a "tester" without deleting them first.

I also wanted to share some other resources to help you test better in the future. I usually share the Preview link with my stakeholders for approval: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/survey-module/preview-survey/
The only downside of this method is that by default, there is no embedded data associated with that link. If you're trying to use embedded data for any functionality (to hide/display questions, alter the survey flow, etc.), check out this article on how to add embedded data to the preview link for testing: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/survey-module/preview-survey/#PreviewingTestingWithED

Thank you ClairJ and Kate for your input.
I see there is a function where you can copy the entire project, and then I just renamed it so that I have new response data from my sample group.
