We have received two survey responses (for surveys that have personalized links) that were missing all embedded data. The recipients had valid IP addresses, so those were not survey previews or anonymous response types. The personalized survey links were distributed per email to those respondents.
After checking with the Qualtrics support, it appears that the most likely cause of missing embedded data are privacy extensions in the respondents’ browsers that messed with the respondent’s link.
In the first case, two "&" values were inserted in the URL on the respondent’s side. This broke the link between the distribution and the contact list which had been the reason for not pulling any ED from the contact list.
In the second case, the URL that the respondent used was shortened to the bare minimum, excluding the part that comes after the survey ID in the survey URL.This made it impossible to identify the respondent.
Did anyone else encounter similar issues? I’m wondering if anyone has tips on what could be possibly done to prevent this from happening.
