QR codes, Anonymous Links and Personal Invites with Passcode log in | XM Community

Hi,

I have created a survey that was available to anyone, but respondents(students) were sent an email. On landing on the platform they are required to input their student ID to log on to the system. Which has worked perfectly. The response rate is not as high as we hoped, and the QR code had now been published and being used. However those student who have answered the survey via the QR are still being sent an email reminder to complete the survey. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Thanks

Hi @UniSurveys ,

Email distribution generally uses unique links to track while QR code uses anonymous link without tracking capabilities.

They are two different types of distribution.

If you set a reminder for email distribution, the reminder will still be sent to those who did not complete the survey through the unique links, even if they did complete through QR code.

What I can think of is,

Option 1) Remove the scheduled reminder, export the response, check response for student id and compare with your list of student id (or any other form of identifier), send a reminder to them manually.

Option 2) Remove the scheduled reminder and send a broadcast email to all students as a reminder.

I was hoping that the fact that they have inputted their student number would knock them off the distribution list. I know the NSS is done on similar way and once the student has answered the survey they do no get another email or phone call. So was hoping for something similar.

And know that JISC does this...

I am unsure if NSS and JISC does their method of distribution.

They could have sent out their distribution by using anonymous link/QR code.

Then, after a time period, they could compare with their list of student number/email address with the responses collected before sending reminder emails / do call-ups.

However, there might be some solution available that I may not be aware of.

So, you can wait for inputs from other users to see if they have an easier/suitable solution for your case.
