Send a custom link to selected participants in the current contact list | XM Community

Good Afternoon,

I hope all are doing well.

I have been experimenting with the authenticator that activates when a student scans a QR code. It was activated with prefill so if a student clicks their email link it won’t ask for the authenticator. Unfortunately, this process is broke, and I ended up deleting the authenticator altogether. In the meantime 35 who have clicked the link were marked as 100% complete in Qualtrics and were kicked out of the survey. In order to send a customized link only to these 35 recipients, I used “retake as new response” (New_Resp_Link); generated their links; and uploaded a new contact list just for this 35. Unfortunately, I don’t see the New_Resp_Link in embeded data field so I cannot add it to the body of an email. Can anybody help? I really appreciate it.

Dear All,

I’m going to provide an update to my silly question and what I have learned in the process. I think I kind of got panicked when a ton of people were erroneously marked as 100% even though they have not completed the survey due to an issue with the survey flow and authenticator.  I should have known better that it is not a good idea to change the survey flow while the survey is in progress. I was a bit over-confident, I guess. With regard to “retake the survey” link. I just closed the survey and got a chance to test it, with a cool head. I didn’t have to generate separate links for each individual (#35) and upload a separate contact list with this link. If I can just upload the contact list and send out an email, the link in the email is already pointing to the “retake” survey. It starts from the beginning. I’m not sure how I missed this one. Anyhow, a good lesson learned. Have a wonderful weekend!
