My survey is an evaluation of mood before and after seeing a slideshow. There are 2 slideshows but each participant only sees one of them so I have 2 separate groups. How do I separate the surveys based on which slideshow each person got?

If the survey is not live yet then you can create branch logic and embedded data in the survey flow to identify which slideshow participant sees.
If you have recorded responses already then also you have to create the embedded data in the survey flow and then you have navigate to data and analysis >> View responses to see what the participant has seen and you have to manually enter the embedded data value to differentiate the survey's.
