Setting Quotas for Multiple Survey Blocks with U.S. Representative Samples | XM Community

Hi everyone,
This is my first time using Qualtrics, and I'm currently having trouble setting up sampling quotas as described below:

I am designing a Qualtrics survey that combines three distinct survey versions within a single survey project, each targeting a different respondent population and sample size:

  • Block 1: Target = 500 respondents

  • Block 2: Target = 300 respondents

  • Block 3: Target = 300 respondents

Each block is meant for a non-overlapping population, and respondents are routed to one of these blocks using a randomizer or embedded data logic.

In addition to controlling the total sample size per block, we also want to apply demographic quotas (age, gender, education) based on U.S. census benchmarks to ensure representativeness within each group.

I am struggling to implement both the block-level quotas and the nested demographic quotas. Can this be done in quotas? Look forward for suggestions. Thanks!

You could use a bunch of quotas (block x age groups x genders x education groups) to keep track of assignments, but there is no easy way to use quotas to do the block assignments so that you fill the groups evenly and make optimal use of the sample.

What I’ve done previously is use web services to keep track of the counts in a external database and assign each new respondent to a block based on the block where they are most needed.
