Storing last question answered in each block

Each of my blocks in my survey has so much display logic tied into answering that even though there are 31 questions in a block, a participant will only answer no more than 5 of them. I also only really want to know how they answered the last question of each block, essentially seeing which question they ended up with based on my display logic and how they responded to it. Is it possible to store this information as an embedded data field for each block? Is there a better method for pulling the last question from a block that has a lot of intricate display logic?
