Since beginning with Qualtrics, Text/Graphic Question Type elements always appeared in the dataset, with a '1' showing it was viewed.
Now, the elements are NOT appearing in the dataset, with is causing a mess of issues with A/B confirmations, notes, etc.
Does anyone know how to get these elements back into the dataset, or is it just easier to move to a new platform?
Hi there, I also miss that aspect of the Legacy exporter. For the exporter now, the support page on understanding the dataset has some info on why it is not included and how it can be included if randomization is being used:
"If you have included a descriptive text (such as an introduction paragraph with no attached question) or a graphic (such as a picture with no attached question), these fields will not have their own columns in the data export, since they have no answers for the respondent to select. If you noticed question numbers being “skipped” in your survey export, it may be because you have fields like this included.
However, if you randomized when descriptive text or graphic fields are displayed to respondents, you can find this data by exporting the randomized data. See Exporting Randomized Data for step-by-step instructions, and see Randomization Data for a guide on how to read the output."
If you are not using randomization and still want to see if a Text/Graphic was displayed to the respondent, you can use the Survey Flow to set an Embedded Data field with Branching that will only be set if the Text/Graphic was displayed to the respondent, like in the below:
