Custom Validation on Text Entry Field not working as desired

Hi Experts,
I have created a text entry field and now I have set up a custom validation to show an error messege if the user enters text as "Not Applicable" etc, but the same does not seem to be working in the preview,
I have not checked "Ignore Validation"switch.

Please advise.

Validation will PASS if the condition is met. So I think you want your condition to be "Does Not Contain" N/A.
