Hello,
I ask respondents to put their name and email so that they can be contacted later for follow up research. However I have been informed by my institutions IRB that I need to have Qualtrics direct names and contact information into a separate data file, that is not connected to the actual survey data to prevent data breach. I'm unsure of how to do this that would provide sufficient anonymity to my respondents. In fact, I'm find with de-identifying each survey from its demographic/user information.
Any guidance on how to facilitate that would be helpful.
Thanks!
Sterlin

Sterlin,
Remove the personal information (PI) questions from the original survey and create a second survey that collects only PI. At end of the original survey, redirect to the PI survey. Also, on the original survey, go to Survey Options and check "Anonymize Survey".

Okay thank you. I will try that to see if that's enough for the IRB.
Hi Sterlin,
I am encountering a similar issue and this seems like a good solution. I was wondering if this ended up working for you (and being sufficient for your IRB)?
