We're looking to determine which types of assessments are present within different courses. Each type of assessment has a code attached to it, but we're having problems with faculty selecting the wrong type of assessment. Previously, they were entering their assessments into an Excel spreadsheet and when they selected the assessment type it would auto-population another cell with the description for that assessment so they can determine if it is the correct assessment type.
Is there anyway to accomplish a similar thing with a drop down or drill down question type? The description would need to be on the same page so that they can read through it and select a different option if it doesn't fit.
There are about 20 different types of assessments, and the descriptions are fairly in depth so just placing a descriptive text with all of the options would be quite long and overwhelming.
Looks like you are looking for the Drill Down Question Type. Here's the link to the support page that has step by step instructions:

Is there a way to format the box to wrap around at a certain number of characters, maybe with Java? I'm not super familiar with Java, but if I know it's possible that's at least one step in the right direction.
