Does Anonymizing Responses break the connection to the contacts metadata embedded in a survey

If I choose to anonymise responses for individual links I know it prevents the storage of location data and disconnects the response from the contact so I don't know who provided a particular response but I do know whether a contact responded or not. My question is how does that work if my survey is using embedded data from the contacts? Does the data I want from contacts still get embedded in my survey? And couldn't that be used to break the anonymize feature by re-embedding identifying data?

I believe the embedded data from a panel will still show up since it's supposed to only break the IP/location/ and not post the response to your contact but I would definitely recommend testing it.
