Export TextIQ Data that was configured in a Dashboard

Hi there! As far as I can see, there's no easy solution to this question. There are really two possibilities:

1. Do exactly as you say, and configure textiQ twice. This can be made easier by exporting a JSON file of your topics from one, and uploading it into the other.


2. You could build a 'simple table' in your dashboard, and include all fields that you'd like to export. You could include among those fields your textiQ topics, then export from that table whenever you're looking to pull data out. This is obviously a better option for smaller sets of data (configuring all those fields can be a lot of work), but once it's set, you don't have to worry about it any more.

I now see two approaches, how to combine both requirements that I need to fullfil.

1. I create the topics in the survey and export the topics, to include them in the dashboard TextIQ. Problem: When the survey TextIQs are configurent differently, I might have problems with combining two topic exports.


2. I create the topics in the dashboard and export them, to include them in the survey. Problems: I have to export the topics each time when I want to have a up to date data export; and I cannot have fine grained topics for each survey...

Do you agree with my assessments? Or do you see other problems/drawbacks with this approaches, especially in the download usability (via API)?

1. I agree with your assessment here. Combining multiple TextiQ uploads into a single dashboard field could result in some overlap between your topics, and then any updates within your surveys would have to be done in the dashboard as well.


2. Although I agree with the idea that you would have to export each time you want an up to date data export, I belive you could have fine grained topics for each survey. If you add a filter to your dashboard page that allows you to present data only from one survey (like adding a filter based off of the embedded data field 'surveyID') you would only pull text topics that were relevant to that dataset. However, if you're saying you won't be able to keep text topics that you set in survey 1 and text topics that you set in survey 2 seperate if all are combined in the dashboard, I believe you would be right- a disadvantage of combining text topics is that all you define will be applied to your entire dataset (meaning if you're watching for customers mentioning speed in survey 1 and customers mentioning accuracy in survey 2, and upload both text topics to the dashboard, even if you filter to only look at survey 1 data, you'll see Qualtrics looking for mentions of both speed and accuracy).

From a download perspective, I'm unsure if there is an API that will allow data downloads from a dashboard (I did a quick search and couldn't find anything, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist). If so, you may only have one choice- to download from the survey itself.
