How do I set a survey so users can complete it only once a day? | XM Community
Skip to main content

I am putting together a daily survey that I would like to prevent users from completing twice in one day. I would also like to allow the same user to take the survey again on the next day. When I say take the survey again, I mean from the beginning and not continuing one they started the day before. I am aware of the ballot stuffing option which will prevent the from retaking the survey ever again by using their devices cookies. I'm looking for something similar but instead only prevents access until the next day. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Do you have a unique id which you can use to identify the participants?

I believe filling it out will generate a unique ID which I've used before to allow one person to fill out one anonymous survey and another person to sign it. I believe the variable I used was rm://Field/ResponseID.

It won't be possible without having a unique id for each participant. Either their email or just some random number like last 5 digits of their phone number.
The response ID is linked to the survey they have completed. So, the same person may have multiple response IDs. If you want to place restrictions on the individual, then you'll need to have something unique for the individual.

I'm not sure. Try getting in touch with Qualtrics support, maybe they can set something up for you.
