20,000 Characters is the max for a single line text entry question. !

I don't believe so, but you can certainly set those parameters if you wish! You can set either a max length of characters or an as an acceptable range! !

Hi there! I'm not certain if there is a character maximum for text questions, but you can definitely elect to have character validation on any open-ended question. For example if you'd like your respondents to have an answer with at least 100 characters, you can select "Character range" on the right and indicate the desired range. I would be sure to include this requirement in you question directions and custom error message as well :) Hope this helps!
