Longitudinal survey help

I have been trying to build a longitudinal survey where answers acquired in the first survey appears in the second survey. I followed the instructions here: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/common-use-cases-rc/pulling-data-into-a-second-survey-longitudinal-surveys/. However, I have not been succeeding. When I click the link to the second survey it asks for login ID, and even when I used the random number (which would be the login ID), the info from the first survey is not visible in the second. I suspect my mistake lies in the distributing second survey part, but I really can't know. Does anyone know how can I get help with this?
