I've recently learned from a colleague and from a post on X (https://x.com/Ingar30/status/1900096859697262976) that Operator, a new product developed by Open AI, can simulate participants’ responses on Qualtrics survey. For things that are not directly fillable by AI (e.g., some Captcha or comprehension questions), Operator gives the possibility to the user to take control of the survey and respond on its behalf. This make useless some of the measures that are usually recommended to deal with bots. It was quite shocking to see how easy it is to fill out a survey with this system and this might have severe consequences for the quality of the collected data.
I would like to know whether there are any measures Qualtrics is taking to minimize this issue or if other users have developed some measures.
Thank you and all the best,
Giuliana
