Bulk Updates in Mailing Lists with CSV, like in Research Contacts

Hi,
Is there a way to do a bulk update of existing contacts in XM Directory (lite) in the same way you could with research contacts?
We used to be able to update existing contacts by including the recipientID/ContactID, however the XM directory GUI seems not to recognize ContactID at all. (Or display it anywhere.)

I can still update contacts individually using the API, but if I had 100 or 1000 to update, it doesn't appear the CSV method works at all anymore.

Again answering my own question after talking to Qualtrics Support. Basically, no you can't do bulk updates in this way with XM Directory Lite. Which, frankly, sucks. A huge step backward in functionality vs Research Contacts.
