Combine two surveys into one report

I am creating a report inside the survey and want to combine the results from another survey into this report. Both surveys have identical questions and response choices. both surveys have text responses, multiple choice responses and matrix responses. i am able to combine the multiple choice and text questions into visuals but when it comes to matrix responses it shows duplicate choices (one from each survey) in the visual. I am trying to consolidate those responses into one choice in the visual but unable to figure it out. has anyone else dealt with this before?

    Are both surveys actively running? It may be more effective to take the data from one survey and import into the second survey.
