Is there a way to link the distribution to the transaction every time the customer takes a survey automatically?

Not sure how you’re distributing the survey, but if you use XM Directory Task to distribute the survey.
You can update the transaction details, and distribute the survey, once you distribute in this manner. It will automatically have the distribution linked to transaction details.
