Hello I noticed that Automations are now going to be migrated to the XM Directory Workflow which means I would have to recreate all of my automations into workflows. 

Contact Import automation is easy to convert to a workflow. Upon reading the following documentations https://www.qualtrics.com/support/iq-directory/automations/migrating-automations-to-xm-directory-workflows/ and https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/actions-module/email-task/. I can tell that survey distribution automation ( in my case that would be sending a survey out via email) cannot be implemented for me because the “Email Task” is only equipped to send 30 emails at once and I need to send more then 1000 at any given moment. 

 

Am I understanding this correctly? If so what are my alternative options. 

I would look at the XM Directory task, which includes the ability to send an email distribution. This is what I use to send out emails daily. We use API to pull in our customer data, but then I have a workflow that creates a Sample based on certain criteria and then an XM Directory sends email invites to that generated sample. 

It has worked seamlessly so far. With the task you can send to an individual contact, a list, or a dynamic list depending on your business use case. Hope this helps! 


@nryalls , I have a customer contact list. Based on certain embedded field values, I have created segments.

I need to have a workflow in place such that the survey can be distributed to these segments and update another contact list that keeps list of contacts invited.

Any inputs on how it can be done ?

@nryalls , I created a workflow and added a task to generate a sample on the conditions that I wanted as shown below:

 

Then I tried adding a task of XM Directory and selected DISTRIBUTE SURVEY. In the distribution type, what do I select :

 

 

I could not find anywhere where it takes the value of previous task sample.

Update : I tried using the Dynamic Contact List and it sent the e-mail correctly. However, on selection of Dynamic Contact list, the option of updating a Contact list doesn’t appear. We usually update a separate contact list to keep track of the invites sent. How can I ensure that.
