Tracking Incentives Paid with embedded data

Has anyone tracked incentives in Qualtrics? I need to track how much in incentives panelist have received in a calendar year as to not exceed our internal limit. Incentives are paid through an API with Virtual Incentives using a workflow, and the incentive amount is collected within each survey's embedded data. Ideally, an automation could be created that would make it so once the limit is reached (summing embedded incentives field within the calendar year), panelists are not included in future distributions. Any ideas or vetted solutions would be wonderful! Thank you!
