Validate email address against XM Directory

If I were to create an XM Directory for a newsletter per se, would there be a way to make the validation check not only that it matches an email address format but also that the email address doesn’t exist in the newsletter? The idea being that I could prevent duplicate contacts from happening.

In order to validate the email in the survey questions, you can use content validation -  Email which will help you to take the valid format emails. With regards to duplicates emails in XM Dir, you can prevent it using the Identity resolutions.
