Topic: Carry Forward Choices
Too many answer choices can result in a higher cognitive load for respondents and can lead to an increase in the dropout rate. The easiest way to combat this is by getting rid of unnecessary or inapplicable answer choices.
Carry forward can help remove unwanted answer choices by allowing you to specify which answer choices you want to bring from one question to a future question. For example, if your initial question has eight answer choices, and your respondent only selects three of them, carry forward let’s you decide if you want to only display selected or unselected choices in your next questions.

Where to find this feature:
- Go to your Survey Project.
- Click on the Question you want to carry forward answer choices to.
- Under the Question behavior section, click Carry forward choices.
