I have seen that several districts used Pulse Surveys this year. What actions has your district taken as a result of these surveys at the district or school level?

I am the communication director for a K12 in Ohio. We are planning to use pulse surveys next school year so I am interested in this as well.

SabrinaC, are you doing pulses or have any thoughts about this?
susanfreije, are you referring to pulse surveys for students or for employees? I'd also love to hear what action districts have taken.
Speaking from what I have seen, there are two ways that districts approach following up on student pulse surveys: programmatic follow up by looking at the data in aggregate, and individual follow up by looking at responses of individual students. Programmatic follow up is often led by leadership and makes systemic changes through new initiatives, PD, the strategic plan, etc. Individual follow up is typically done by school administrators, teachers, counsellors, social workers, etc. Individual follow up can be accomplished by using Qualtrics workflows based on answers that might need follow up. For example, if a student agreed with the statement "In the last 7 days, I have contemplated suicide", that could trigger an email or ticket to the student's school counselor. Alternatively, you could score the entire pulse survey and then follow up with the cohort of students who scored the lowest for overall well-being. Another way to do this is to allow students to opt in to meeting with an advisor or counsellor. Some key areas of focus for student pulse surveys include perception of equity or inclusion, academic success, mental-emotional wellbeing, and physical environment (is there food at home, are they safe, etc).
Following up on employee pulses can be approached in similar ways to student pulses by taking programmatic or individual action. Qualtrics has some good resources for pulse surveys:

I hope this helps!
