Hi Guinevere.
Re:Personal Data: Previously the “Right to Erasure” tool. Admins could delete / search all information in a brand related to specified email addresses, but now they can also export a JSON data file of survey responses. Comes with new user interface.
I know previously the “Right to Erasure” tool deleted everything, included responses and verbatims, which didn’t meet our requirements where we want to only remove the customer’s PII. Do you know if these updates allow us to pick and choose what should be deleted?

Hi JMoran_eBay!
Great question! Currently, this tool will delete all responses that don't meet requirements. Our Sensitive Data Policy lets you get more targeted for the type of information that is censored, so that you can wipe everything or advise against disclosing personal data in surveys, but it is Everyone or No One (although you can limit this to specific surveys). Does that functionality help achieve more of what you're looking for?
Alternatively, I'd recommend that you look to the Product Idea portal for something that matches this specific ask!
Thanks for reaching out!

Hi Guinevere,

Unfortunately not. It's not specifically about censoring PII data within the survey. The types of GDPR requests we get require us to delete data pertaining to individual users as is their right under EU law. What we were hoping was that this change would let us remove elements of the survey to comply with this request and retain the survey scores etc.

There are a number of requests already logged in the product forums around this topic or similar (keeping response data while removing users etc) most specifically this one from 2019 that's gotten no response :(

Is there a point in logging this now if it's not getting traction?

Hi JMoran_eBay,
Thanks for the follow-up on this! According to the Product Idea you attached, this feature is listed as Scheduled and will be added to the Product. Because of this status, I'd recommend watching our Product Roadmap for updates.
