Are bounced email totals cumulative? | XM Community

I am trying to calculate a cumulative response rate for a survey that had several rounds of reminders. Each round the number of bounced emails changes (and it is not consistently growing, the last reminder was a smaller number than the two previous- see attachment). I am wondering if those bounced emails are cumulative or if I should subtract the number of responses bounced the previous round from the new total?

Hi iwheeler ,
No, the Bounced count is not cumulative. The 3rd and 4th waves in your distribution shown above probably have a lot higher Bounced counts due to a large number of Soft Bounces that occurred at those times. You can download the Distribution History and check the Status column to get a sense of the ratio of Soft versus Hard bounces.
