This is probably a question that has been answered on the community discussion before, but the information I found was a little confusing.
How do you transfer information that is in a Likert scale as full text (i.e., "Not at all) to numerical values (i.e. "1") when downloaded to Excel? This would save a lot of time and effort when it's ultimately transferred to SPSS.

Recoding these scales which is one time task and can be done at any point of time which will help you save time and effort .
