Hi,
I want to recode the values of a dropdown list of almost 600 items.
Is there an easy way I can do this all at once? I have a list in excel.
Thanks in advance,
Loes

If you have not distributed your survey yet then the easier way would be
- Assign default recode value to the dropdown list question (just by selecting the "recode value" checkbox)
- Export the survey (which will be qsf)
- open the qsf in text editor tool (such as edit plus, notepad++)
- Find recode value and you should be able to find the recode value for the dropdown question
- Replace it with your updated recode values
- Make sure the recode value format is comma separated and it should be within double quotes.
- Replace and save it
- Import the qsf into a new project and use this project.
If the project is already distributed and you collected responses then you will have to manually update the recode value one by one within the survey itself.

Hi,
I did not distribute the project yet, so I will try your recommendation!
