I'm trying to use one survey where the Coordinator initiates the process by completing the first part of the survey, then the instructor will go in and complete their part of the same survey. Ideally, I'd like to be able to populate some of the question text for the instructor to be what the coordinator entered for the same course. I'm pretty sure I could use a retake link to do this, but how can I automatically generate/capture that retake link so that it's sent in an automated email (either action or trigger) before the coordinator initiates? How can I prepare the automated email (or is there some language to use so it automatically updates that link before sending?
If I can't do that, maybe I can separate this into 2 different surveys. Then use embedded data to pipe in answers from survey 1 to be part of the question for survey 2? I've been trying to learn how to pass embedded data from one survey to another but can't seem to wrap my head around that. Is there any way I could chat/message/screen share with an expert on here to see what I'm doing wrong? I apologize for my lack of knowledge/understanding and appreciate any help/suggestions. TIA.
Hi BarbiUF I am out of the office for the rest of today but feel free to reach out to me tomorrow. I work for UW-Madison and am the only Betsy Strahin in the directory if you want to email me (I see my Inbox more frequently than here).
Some things that might help you:
1) How to build a retake link (still need to have a recorded response to insert a response ID) https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/data-and-analysis-module/retake-survey-link/#BuildingARetakeLink
2) You may consider using a table of contents to allow people to bounce around and work on gathering information from multiple people for inserting https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/survey-module/survey-flow/advanced-elements/table-of-contents/
3) See this help page on longitudinal studies - passing information from one survey to the next https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/common-use-cases-rc/pulling-data-into-a-second-survey-longitudinal-surveys/
Oh I could kiss you Betsy! Thank you so much bstrahin!! I have already learned so much by checking out the links you suggested. #3 Longitudinal studies seems like the best option for my project and it's been so incredibly helpful. Still trying to work out the kinks a bit but I'm much further along. I might email you about a few things if I can't figure it out but I just really really appreciate your time and suggestions.
BarbiUF happy to hear that it is helping!
