Stripping HTML code from Response Report

Hi --- We use html to format questions including "<br />" to split information onto two or more lines so that we can make it easier for our user to read. The only issue is that all this rich text formatting and html winds up in our Response Report emails. Is there a way to do this formatting and also have the response report look clean without all the markup code.
