Unable to use Timing at all

[If this is on the wrong part of the forum , please let me know and i'll make a new topic elsewhere.]
Hi, first time using Qualtrics to create a survey and I am unable to use the timing feature whatsoever. Please show me what I'm missing. I have read several guides and videos and still cannot figure it out.
I understand that the Timing question and the question you'd like to use in in conjunction needs to be on the same page for it to work, but even when I create a new block with only the two, I still get the error:

"Timing/Metadata Questions Are Alone on A Page
Timing/Metadata only works when there are other question types also present on the page.
