How Can I Use Qualtrics to Improve a PC Gaming Website?

I'm managing a PC gaming website and want to use Qualtrics to collect better feedback from visitors.

I'd like to understand which content users find most useful, such as game guides, recommendations, news, and other PC gaming resources.

What would be the best way to structure a survey without asking too many questions?

I'm particularly interested in using survey logic to show different follow-up questions based on what type of content a visitor prefers.

Has anyone used Qualtrics to improve a content or gaming website? I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Hi, @josephfery!

I´d think in leveraging Qualtrics Website / App Feedback (Digital Intercepts) with short, contextual micro-surveys (2–3 questions max) to minimize drop-off.

1. Survey Structure

  • Q1 (Core Interest / Routing Question): A simple multiple-choice question: "What type of content brought you here today?" (Options: Game Guides, Reviews & Recommendations, PC Gaming News, Downloads & Resources).
  • Branching Logic: In the Survey Flow, set up branches based on the Q1 selection to display targeted blocks:
    • Guides Branch: "Did our guides help solve what you were looking for?" (Yes/No or 1–5 scale) + an optional text box: "Which game should we cover next?".
    • News/Reviews Branch: "What topics or games would you like to see covered more often?".
  • Final Question (Wrap-up): A single optional open-text field: "Any other feedback to help us improve the site?".

2. Technical Implementation (Website / App Feedback)

  • Creative Type: Opt for a non-intrusive format like a persistent Feedback Button/Slider on the side or a Responsive Dialog triggered on exit intent.
  • Targeting & Action Logic:
    • Trigger the intercept only after a visitor spends 30–45 seconds on a page or reaches 50% scroll depth, ensuring they have actually engaged with the content.
    • Use Embedded Data to automatically capture page URLs, article categories, and device types (mobile vs. desktop) without adding extra survey fields.

3. Insights & Action (Dashboards & Text iQ)

  • Set up Text iQ on open-ended fields to automatically cluster requested game titles and emerging gaming topics.
  • Build a lightweight dashboard breaking down content satisfaction by category (Guides vs. News) to directly guide editorial strategy.

These are all suggestions about the approach you can have. But, off course, you know your audience better than me and would have a better idea about what would actually works and what will not.
