Can we manually trigger reminders on-demand?

Hi,
the idea here is that while we sent an survey invite via email, we can setup a scheduled reminder when the distribution is setup. Afterwards, I would like to have a mechanism to trigger a second reminder to that invite at my own discretion and programmatically. I will be creating some sort of a trigger (e.g.. button) which can trigger an API request to Qualtrics, but I am not envisioning how I an do it as a continuity of the existing invite/reminder process.
I have taken into account that perhaps either the invite or reminder have been activated and the survey completed, in which case we would not be triggering the manual reminder.
any ideas?
