send SMS WITHOUT sending a survey

​@kgillis you could create a survey that contains a single (or multiple) pages that only contain the link to your app. 

Or you could design the distribution so the SMS content contains the link to your app in the main area and a dummy survey link at the very bottom.

Well, I would be very interested to know if this can be achieved through some workaround, but I don’t think Qualtrics SMS is designed to send standalone SMS blasts without a survey link.

You’re 100% correct, it’s not. For the workaround I’ve implemented, I initially didn’t have a survey URL in the body and it was disrupted about a year ago when Qualtrics enforced all distributions to have a survey link somewhere in the body 😅

We don’t have SMS functionality in our platform so I can’t try it out, but I tried something similar with emails - empty survey, a scheduled job trigger and send a survey via email:
 

The email sending task allowed me to select a contact list, and type-in whatever I wanted inside like for a regular distribution

It did warn me about not having the survey link, but it did go through and was delivered even without the survey link.

​@Romanoman that’s the solution that we’ve used as well for a client. It works fine. The survey created will never collect any data. It’s only present as it’s mandatory to have one.

As a workaround, I’d recommend creating a simple one-page survey that includes your app download instructions and a link to your app. Then, include the direct app download link within the SMS message itself as well. This approach ensures compliance with Qualtrics’ distribution requirements while still achieving your goal of directing users to your app.

yep this is the best workaround given Qualtrics have recently made it a requirement have {surveyURL} in the body.
