Workflow email not working when survey is redirected to Inquisit

Hello.

I have set up multiple workflows between surveys in a counterbalanced design and most are working but I have four intake surveys that include a redirect to Inquisit for an external task that are not.

Firstly, when the participant has finished the Inquisit task they are being redirected back to the initial page of the survey and not where there exited it.

And secondly, my workflow email triggers are only successful when I do not follow the link to the Inquisit task and instead exit the survey at that point.

Please help!

If they are return to the start, then your survey is not being marked as finished/recorded, therefore, the workflow email doesn’t trigger.

You’ll have to see how you’ve incorporated the external task, some options you could look at would be:

  1. Open it another tab. Add target=”_blank” in the URL
  2. Embedd it in an iframe
  3. Split your survey into two parts. Redirect them using the End of Survey element and instead of returning them to survey 1, return them to a new survey 2.
