Hello K-12 Community!

A lot of K-12 Qualtrics users have been inquiring about public dashboards lately and we wanted to create a space of collaboration to see what you (the experts in K-12) are doing with public-facing dashboards.

To help others in your space, please feel free to comment:

  • Are you using Public-facing dashboards?
  • What are the benefits of public-facing dashbaords?
  • Share your public-facing dashboard! Having a space to share enables other K-12 employees to see what is working in different school districts and prioritize the right metrics - and who knows, other people may share insights you benefit from too!

In Carroll County Schools (Georgia), we just went live with our Performance Dashboard.  Our goal was to tell our story to our stakeholders.  Working with CESA-6,  we compiled our data and some additional information about the district in what we call our hybrid dashboard.  To achieve the desired aesthetics and functionality, seven public-facing dashboards are linked to our website base.  The benefit is that we now have information easily accessible for any inquiry.  At the district office or at the school level, there is pertinent information at our fingertips!

Thank you so much for sharing @SabrinaC! I love all of the different tabs that your public-facing dashboard has allowing people viewing (parents, teachers, etc.) to see views that they are interested in! Thank you so much for sharing your insights too - I know this helps a lot of K-12 users!

Hi, @SabrinaC.   I really like the aesthetics of your dashboard and how you present it to your community.      We just finished our public facing dashboard for our coherence/strategic plan and wanted to design a db that included all of the data but also matched our district’s colors and visuals that we use in all of our communications.    We also have an internal facing db that mirrors the public db with additional features, widgets, data points and filters.   I would appreciate any thoughts/feedback on ours and what suggestions other users might have to build on what we have.

Hello, @MarkGrunske.  The graphics on your landing page are so attractive and the contrast of color on the black background give such energy to the page. I really like how you navigate through your dashboard with the hyperlinks to other dashboards.

I know that we had to really work with some of our widgets to help display the data that we wanted to show.  We had some data that we were attempting to focus on that applied to a very small percentage of our student population and using a vertical bar graph, the “no” population was so large that it diminished the percentage of “yes” students.  We created some field groups in the data source to bring some common groups together and then removed the “no” group from the display.  You can see examples of this on our Future Focused page.

Thank you for your feedback and sharing your dashboard,

Sabrina
