Can you add embedded data to contact list?

I would like to add embedded data that will say the survey deadline. We use the API to create the panel, and the send the invite and remembers. The message is used for all the surveys that is uploaded into the API app. So I would like the deadline to be piped into the message since every survey deadline is different.
If API will not work any other way to get the deadline to show up in the message since they are different?

You can add embedded data to the contact list. Embedded Data (qualtrics.com)
If you can even update the embedded data in the contact list with an API call.
