Hi,
I have a matrix question that uses a Likert-scale point system. I have one response that is an "Other" that allows text entry.
I managed to create a custom validation which allows this answer option not be forced response. However, I want to force respondents to select an appropriate scale after they entered a text in "other" (in case they move to next question without select the scale). How do I do this?

If no one has better solutions, one possible workaround would be to do a follow up matrix question that comes up for any person that wrote something in "Other." This matrix question would use the piped text option as the "Other" area but the display of this question would only apply to the following parameters. I would also select the "in page" option.

Thank you for your help. I created custom validation as suggested by ahmedA . I used "move to a new logic set" and the problem solved.
