Why is Qualtrics so behind in having AI integrations to Claude, GPT, etc?

Before I go any further Qualtrics has a ton of positives - lots to love. . World class support being one.

Lower level platforms like Survey Monkey have impressive, full MCP implementations, can upload survey drafts, have it do the coding / adjustments like, comprehensive findings analysis, etc.  Pretty much anything you would do in Survey Monkey can be automated via AI workflows, or simply using their web interfaces.   Makes a HUGE difference,   Qualtrics data tab (text IQ, Stats IQ) totally outdated.  Also Qualtrics Workflow can be unreliable.  Writing same response to a google sheet twice, missing a response, etc.  I

Qualtrics “MCP” limited to mapping what can be done with Qualtrics rather than “full-blown MCP”    Now I’m not going to use Survey Monkey for our enterprise level surveys for obvious reasons but not having a highly capable MCP integration is inexcusable at this point in time.  Am I missing something?

Hi @TFXR,

We appreciate your feedback and understand your concerns regarding Qualtrics’ AI capabilities. While you wait to hear input from community members, I’ve reached out to our product team to get more info on our current capabilities and to see if I can get you any insight on our roadmap regarding these features. Will share once I hear back!

@TFXR ,

I think it’s worth separating “AI integrations” from “platform extensibility and AI enablement.”

Qualtrics already has multiple layers that support AI workflows:

  • MCP support for connecting AI agents like GPT or Claude directly with Qualtrics
  • Qualtrics MCP Overview
  • Survey APIs that allow full programmatic survey creation and management (so AI can actually build and modify surveys, not just analyse data)
  • Create Survey API
  • GPT-based workflow tasks inside Qualtrics (classification, summarisation, extraction, content generation, etc.)
  • GPT Task in Qualtrics Workflows
  • Experience Agents, which represent Qualtrics’ move toward agentic AI for automating interactions and experience workflows
  • Experience Agents Overview

From a capability standpoint, Qualtrics already supports AI integrations through APIs, workflows, and MCP. In many enterprise setups, teams are already connecting Qualtrics to OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and internal LLMs using these building blocks.

Where I think the feedback is fair is on product experience: some platforms have gone further in making AI-native survey creation, editing, and insight generation feel fully “out of the box” for non-technical users. That’s different from capability—it’s more about packaging and UX.

As a side note, as part of the community we’ve also built a lightweight AI conversion tool (Pirai AI) that converts documents into Qualtrics QSF format for bulk survey import, which may be useful for teams looking to speed up survey migration and creation workflows.
