Side-by-Side Likert Scales
I am new, so I apologize if this is obvious, but I cannot figure out for the life of me via google.
I am looking to have one option in a matrix on one end and then another option at the other end. In this example, I would want to have "short" on the right directly across from tall. Is there a way to make this two likert scales that are next to one another, or to simply edit a row at the end of the scale?

Yes, you can do a matrix question but the format would be vertical (in other words, your column would have a row for "tall" and a row for "short", one on top of each other). Could you describe a little bit more what information you are planning to gather?

I need "Tall" and "Short" to be across from each other. Essentially, I want it to be a dichotomous choice Tall vs. Short, but where the respondents are given options to signal their level commitment to the choice.
+67I see--in that case, I would do a single odd-numbered scale with "tall" on one end and "short" on the other. That way you have a middle value which respondents can use to signal that they truly don't have a commitment to either extreme, and can signal their level if they do. That's a simple approach that should give you the answer you're looking for.
