Trigger/Action - send email to a piped text

Hi, I am trying to set an email trigger/action to send an email to a piped text based on embedded data. It works in all other fields such as subject and body but not in the email. Does anyone know how to get around this? Also, is there a way to change the format/layout of the individual response report that is included using custom CSS? I heard this is possible but can't find where I can add the code in. Thanks, Peter
