Great Challenge ​@JoseS ! I firmly sit in the arcade nostalgic corner with fond memories of playing the game in 'Presto', our neighbourhood minimart 🤖 I soon moved on to playing games on my brother's PC like Castle Wolfenstein and later games like Doom and Quake on my own PC. But the one that takes the nostalgic crown is BattleZone. A first person shooter game developed by Atari that some consider the first truly 3D game. I could stretch a quarter for a very, very long time 😁 Lesson learnt? Practice makes Perfect! 

​@SteveBelgraver Thank you for sharing this! I had to look up some Battlezone gameplay and I can definitely see my younger self spending hours playing this game. The first Atari game I ever remember playing was Space Invaders, but at home since our first console was the NES, I have fond memories of my older brother and I battling to see who could beat the level first on Super Mario Bros. 🎮

I miss playing games in the arcade while killing time before a movie.

Shooting games: Time Crisis 2, 3 & 4, “Elevator action” and some “hunting dinosaur” game.

Physical games: basketball

Arcade stick games: three kingdom, Tekken, Metal Slug 4, etc.

Racing games: Initial D, Midnight Club, some “fighting jet” game

Rhythm games: DDR, DJ Max, Project Diva, Jubeat, Reflec Beat, Taiko drum and Percussion Master

There were so much fun and cheap games back then.

Nowadays, most of the arcade games feels so boring and expensive to play.

I’ve always been a MMORPG fan but I’ve quitted playing for several years now. My fondest memories are from Everquest.

Nowadays, I favor board or card games with the kids. Currently mostly into MTG and Catan.

​@Chee Heng_SZ I always loved elevator action and Tekken! Now whether I was any good at them is a whole other story haha. I was never super good at rhythm games so I typically strayed away but I would always find myself at some point watching people get in the zone when playing Dance Dance Revolution at the arcade. Agreed, nowadays when I visit an arcade bar I tend to go directly to the Ms. PacMan machine and use whatever left over change I have on hand to play a few rounds before ultimately going upset that I didn’t get past level 5.

​@vgayraud The only MMORPG I ever truly got addicted to was a French game called Dofus, I found myself playing for hours doing the most mundane tasks like fishing, collecting wheat or things of that nature till I had enough XP to level up. I think its the first game that truly taught me patience.

I am a huge board game fan now, and I would very much recommend Wingspan as the next board game you play with your family! Its an engine building game with beautifully illustrated cards and intuitive rules. Plus you get to learn fun facts about birds while also not being as argument inducing as Catan!

I loved the days of growing up with the original Mario games on Nintendo.  I sometimes got little playing time as my older brother always got to be Mario and I was always Luigi (who was by default the second-round player).  

These days my kids have a Nintendo switch and like Minecraft and the more current Mario options (Mario Cart, etc.) but it is so fun to play with them now.  Even though it is “screen time”, it is really great family time coming together to play!

​@MeganZich I would always be Luigi too! I would just watch my brother hoping he’d mess up so I could get a turn haha. There’s definitely some cool ways of doing screen time, and I think playing games as a family is one of them. I’m sure your kids love it when their parents get involved too, I always loved “beating” my dad at Wii Sports. 😆
