My favorite video game of all time is The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time. I’m super excited for the remake coming out in November. My kids tell me I like “vintage” games. My favorite memories are playing Duck Hunt on our living room television. Here’s our old setup and my kiddo playing Duck Hunt with my brother

My favorite that I wish they would bring back was Yoshi’s Story on N64 - it was simply just ADORABLY cute!

@KelliPolk If you’re ever up for it, I’d recommend seeing if you can thrift or buy an older used pc to boot up Neverhood and show it to your kids. I’m sure they’d love to see what mom used to play when you were their age. I always felt like I could imagine more of my dads childhood when we would do activities together that he used to frequent when he was younger!

Alright, I wasn’t able to thrift a computer to play this game, but found it online and streamed it. 100% worth all of the effort. My kids were wildly impressed by my gaming skills (which I do not have on any console) and kept screaming, "How do you know how to do that?!” Now they beg to play the clay game with me and it’s awesome.

@KelliPolk I’m so glad you were able to find it online! This is the exact core memories they’ll think about when they’re older and maybe even play it themselves for nostalgia’s sake. 😊

Plus, now you all have a new activity you can do together and have fun with! 🌟

I did something very similar with my kids last winter! We dug up some of the old DOS games we used to play a lot as kids, especially The Games: Winter Challenge and The Games: Summer Challenge. I honestly wasn’t sure how they’d react to games that old, but I was pleasantly surprised that they really enjoyed them too.

Then recently, at a local arcade center, I came across a Vectrex running Mine Storm. That game actually predates me, and I’d never really come across it before, but I immediately fell in love with it. That little screen, the glowing vectors, the wonderfully simple gameplay... Amazing. I did not manage to convince my kids it is the best thing there though.

It's honestly hard for me to pin down one single all-time favorite video game, but I can't overlook the Mario Bros games. Even to this day, I find these games awesome, and they've aged incredibly well over time.

On another note, as a huge Harry Potter fan, I have to say Hogwarts Legacy was amazing! ✨

I loved the days of growing up with the original Mario games on Nintendo.  I sometimes got little playing time as my older brother always got to be Mario and I was always Luigi (who was by default the second-round player).

These days my kids have a Nintendo switch and like Minecraft and the more current Mario options (Mario Cart, etc.) but it is so fun to play with them now.  Even though it is “screen time”, it is really great family time coming together to play!

I totally understand you @MeganZich, I was in the exact same situation growing up! Always Luigi, never Mario 😅

That's actually why I ADORED getting to play Luigi's Mansion as an adult. It felt like such a redemption arc after all those years of Luigi being nothing more than the default second-round player!

"The best gaming memories I have are from when I was a teenager, playing Halo 1 split-screen with a bunch of friends. The sentence that came up most often was: "Hey, stop looking at my screen, you cheater!"" I feel that split-screen mode was awesome and that era is now over !

Split-screen was truly awesome, though I'll admit half a screen also made it a bit hard to actually see anything properly sometimes!

The good news is that split-screen isn't completely gone, you can still play split-screen games on the Switch, so all hope isn't lost! 😉

OMG DUCK HUNT!!! My aunt had that game at her place, I could spend hours playing it with my cousins. I had totally forgotten that existed!!! What a great game haha 🙌🏻
