Switching from data mapper to data modeler without losing widgets

Hi! We currently have several (CX) dashboard templates containing numerous widgets. With the recent implementation of the data modeler feature, we're interested in transitioning from using the auto mapper to the data modeler. However, both our own observations on the platform and information from the support page indicate that once a builder type is chosen for a dashboard, switching to the data modeler isn't an option. This limitation seems to persist even when we attempt to make a copy of a dashboard, strip it of all its sources, and then load a new dataset.

Is there a method that allows us to maintain our existing widgets and custom metrics on a dashboard while transitioning to the data modeler? Rebuilding all our dashboard templates from scratch would be extremely labor-intensive. If this functionality isn't currently available, we would be keen to know if there are plans to introduce it in the near or foreseeable future.
